Kim was Suffield’s Director of Academic Support for 17 years. She also coordinated the annual spring break trips to Europe and other exotic destinations, the annual service trip to Ghana, and was a vocal coach for musical theater productions. "There are so many things now in my life that fill it with magnificent joy," she says. "Most of all, those things came as a result of Suffield Academy."
“I would like to be remembered as a person of integrity. The idea is to strive for excellence in whatever it is you are doing,” he says. “Regardless of whether you are playing varsity baseball or Tiger B basketball, hard work and commitment to the team’s success are what matter most.”
“I’ll never get tired of learning. I have always approached teaching from a professional perspective and wanted to continually sharpen the tools of the trade to better myself in the classroom.”
Mason’s career included many years as English Department Chair and time as Dean of Studies and Assistant Headmaster, as well as a year as Headmaster. Even during this time as headmaster, though, Mason always made sure he could have an English class because he wanted to maintain a connection to teaching.
Gerry is a man who rises each morning at 5:00 a.m. to play squash. Gerry once biked 3,000 miles across the country. He boasts the largest collection of plants on campus. He’s been known to bake desserts for Fuller dorm students with the cleanest room; his “fabulous cheesecake” even fetched several hundred dollars at the most recent Parent Auction. A man of diverse talents and interests, Gerry has made sure that his road has never been staid or boring.
