Suffield Academy Facilities
Visual and Performing Arts Centers
The Tremaine Visual Art Center is equipped with five studios and professional equipment in support of five core disciplines: ceramics, photography, digital art, woodworking, and painting and drawing. The Music Center has a piano practice room with digital keyboards to accommodate group classes, a large practice room, a recording studio, and four individual practice rooms each with a small piano. The other arts building on campus is the Jeanice Seaverns Performing Arts Center, which is home to a 200-seat theater and a new lighting system.
Most Summer Academy classes use the newly built Centurion Hall, constructed in 2002. Centurion is climate controlled and features large classrooms equipped with round conference tables, which help to facilitate group discussion. The classrooms are also designed to utilize natural light.
Some of the facilities Summer Academy students have access to include: the Academy’s six-lane championship swimming pool, newly renovated and refurbished fitness center complete with free weights and Nautilus machines, basketball court, tennis courts, and four international squash courts.
