Endowed Scholarships, Funds, and Prizes
We are deeply grateful to the many donors who have established endowed funds at Suffield. They have been created to support financial aid, teaching and learning and campus programs, and recognition of students, faculty, and staff. Endowments have been endowed in honor of family members and inspirational teachers and coaches. These funds play the essential dual purpose of supporting the present and preserving Suffield’s future.

The Cahn Scholars Fund
Kindness, Respect, Leadership, and Effort
The Cahn Scholars Program was established through gifts from many donors to recognize Hillary and Charlie Cahn’s historic impact on Suffield and further strengthen the school’s commitment to financial aid. The goal is to permanently carry forward the Cahn family’s emphasis on kindness, respect, leadership, and effort by providing financial assistance to a group of students demonstrating these values and clear academic accomplishment. This is Suffield’s largest endowment fund, and proceeds are supporting the educational experience of six students during the current academic year.
Make a Gift to the Cahn Scholars Fund
The Cahn Scholars is a testament to the values Hillary and Charlie Cahn embody: kindness, respect, leadership, and effort. This scholarship seeks to empower bright, motivated students from diverse backgrounds who, due to financial constraints, are unable to benefit from the transformative experience that our school offers. By supporting the Cahn Scholars, you join us in shaping the future for remarkable students who have the potential to thrive and lead. Each gift, no matter the size, directly impacts future students and enriches the Suffield Academy community. We hope you will join us in honoring the Cahn’s.

The Diana G. Zwirn Scholarship
Established in 2025 by Richard J. Zwirn, Class of 1967, in memory of his beloved sister, Diana G. Zwirn, who worked for and headed fundraising charitable divisions of a number of not-for-profit institutions, such as leading as the Director of Development with a staff of 34 members at Mt Sinai Medical Center in New York City. The funds are to be restricted to providing partial tuition for a male or female boarding student with preference in his or her junior or senior year. Preference will also be given to a student in good academic standing with an appreciation of sports, and with an aptitude and potential to accentuate the Suffield spirit for the student body as a whole.

Hills Family Endowment
The Hills family established an endowment fund to assist the Academic Support Program in honor of the memorable, important experiences that Calvin Hills ’58 and Cole Hills ’13 had at Suffield Academy. They wanted to help a school they love and ensure Suffield has programs and resources to inspire some talented students with atypical learning styles. These funds support the faculty and programs involved with Suffield’s Academic Support offerings.
