The Suffield girls’ varsity squash team opened their 2024/25 campaign on a high note, hosting Kingswood- Oxford at Tisch Field House on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers came out strong, securing a decisive 5-2 victory in their season opener.

Seniors Diana Baffor and Tilden Wasley picked up right where they left off last season, each delivering swift 3-0 wins in the middle of the ladder. Fellow senior Lauren Dobler was equally dominant, conceding only five points across three games at number 6. Facing a formidable top of the Kingswood lineup, Suffield’s seniors Paw Law Eh and Chloe Lawrence battled valiantly against tough opponents but ultimately fell in three games at number 1 and 2.

With sophomore Stella Lawrence sidelined due to injury, the team welcomed strong contributions from junior newcomers Anna Jolly and Charlotte DeLong. Playing in the number 7 and 8 positions, respectively, both Jolly and DeLong earned their first varsity victories.

Suffield will look to carry their momentum into Saturday, when they travel to eastern Connecticut to face Pomfret at 2pm EST.
