The Tigers were excited for their first game. With a newer team and players still learning team dynamics and positions, NMH capitalized on their opportunities. Despite the score, the team was positive and supportive throughout the four quarters. Shout out to Lia B (’27) for helping us out in goal (in her second game of the day!)

Win
3-0
The cloudy Saturday afternoon did not dampen the team’s energy and excitement. In the first quarter, an offensive corner led to the team’s first goal of the season by Alice E. (’27) At halftime, the score was 1-0 thanks to some impressive saves by Kathryn C (‘26) in goal. In the third, Lauren D (’25) scored, and in the fourth Neeva P (’26). The Tigers look to carry their positive energy into our first away game on Wednesday.

A late arrival had the team scrambling to get ready for the game. With only 8 minutes on the clock, it was a hectic warm up to say the least. However, the Tigers got on the field and wasted no time in getting to business. The team played with energy, running to every ball and matching the fast pace of Porter’s astro turf pitch.
With three minutes left in the first, Neeva Patel ’26 scored her first goal. The second quarter didn’t faze the girls, and Lauren Dobler ’25 got her stick on the ball and into the net. At halftime, the team caught their breath and kept up the pressure. Neeva Patel ’26 scored again in the third. In the fourth, the constant pressure in the offensive circle led to Molly Silverman’s ’27 first goal of her Suffield career.
It was a high energy, competitive game. Miss Porter’s played with grace and intensity. The Tigers will have to wait until next Wednesday for their next match.

Tie
1-1
As we drove down 44 on an unusually hot October day, the bus was quiet with sleeping Tigers. We arrived to the grass pitch under the blazing sun, and the team took a while to wake back up.
The first quarter was not our best showing with slow feet and clumped spacing. In the second, the Tigers still struggled leading to Hotchkiss scoring a goal. Bad spacing in the circle did not help our goalie Kathryn Clark '26 despite several saves.
After halftime, it was like a different team took the field. The players started using their space and had some great passing up the field, including some strong passes from Sophie Kaplan '27 and Molly Silverman. '27 Avery Freedman '27 got in the offensive groove playing forward and the Tigers started to attack the offensive circle.
In the fourth, the Tigers kept at it and finally broke through after many shots on goal with only a few minutes left. Diana Krokondelar '27 and Olivia Wyszynski '27 both worked together to score on Hotchkiss with only a few minutes left in the game. It was a tense last few minutes, but the Tigers held Hotchkiss leading to our first tie, 1-1. The team was treated to pizza and cookies after the game thanks to our supportive team parents and the Tigers went home happy and content.
The team will have to wait for our next game in a week and a half at Berkshire.

Surrounded by towering hills of green and yellow, the Tigers took on the Bears with high hopes and dreams. Unfortunately, Berkshire was ready for us, and scored three goals in quick succession within the first quarter. This understandably dampened the mood.
However, thanks to an enthusiastic bench of supportive teammates, Suffield picked up the pace and their spirits in the second. The Tigers started passing and defending the goal. Several players had standout performances including Ashley Mercede '25, Sophie Kaplan '26, and Mickey Kridlova '25. They all had kept the team solid and Deerfield on their toes.
Shoutout to goalie Kathryn Clark '26 for working hard in the goal against a strong Berkshire offense.

Win
1-0
After a disappointing loss against Berkshire on Saturday, the girls were fired up and ready to take on Pomfret. From the get-go, it was evident that it would be a close game. Both Pomfret and Suffield battled neck and neck and worked hard to get the ball in the goal. By halftime, the score remained 0-0.
Learning from our previous games, the Tigers honed in on their skills and played beautifully. The team had solid passes, strong sticks, and quick breakaways up the sides. In the end, it was Lauren Dobler '25 who brought us to a thrilling victory. With 15 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Dobler, with the help of Molly Silverman ‘27 and Mia Capasso ‘27, was able to secure a breakaway and smack it in the goal right at the buzzer. Shoutout to Kathryn Clark ‘26 for many incredible saves and helping our defense with solid advice and words of wisdom.
It was an exciting game from start to finish, and the girls were all proud of how they played. Stand out performances were made by Michaela Kridlova ‘25, Avery Cartun ‘27, and Kathryn Clark '26.
