The Girls' JV Squash team at Suffield Academy usually consists of players with a wide range of skills and abilities. Squash is a game that can be played for most of one's life and is growing increasingly popular because of its aerobic benefits, fast pace play, and excitement. Practices focus on teaching and fine-tuning the basic and fundamental skills necessary to succeed at the sport. This includes proper swing technique, footwork, court movement, and in-game strategy. In addition to having fun, the players will also strive to play at their highest level, and eventually compete for places on the varsity ladder.

The JV team emphasizes the fundamentals of the game: racquet skills, proper technique, footwork, the understanding of rules and strategy, and above all else, sportsmanship.

Suffield's junior varsity athletics teams welcome students of all ability levels to experience the excitement and challenge of interscholastic engagement. The goals at this level of sport are focused on amplifying transferable skills, such as teamwork and communication, exposing students to new and different extracurricular opportunities, and enhancing both personal and social growth through participation in team-based competition.
