vs.
Millbrook School
Away
Win
The JV girls traveled to Millbrook on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon and put together a strong performance against a tough opponent. The game started out evenly matched, with both teams battling for possession and testing each other’s defenses.
Once we found the back of the net for the first time, the girls really settled in. Their passing improved, the movement off the ball opened up the field, and the team began to connect on the plays they’ve been working on. Millbrook’s defense was impressive, and their goalie had an excellent game, but our team stayed patient and kept creating opportunities. That persistence paid off, and we were able to score with contributions from several different players.
A special shout-out goes to Alexa, who stepped into the goalie position for the very first time. She decided it was her new spot and played with confidence, focus, and heart. She did a fantastic job and helped anchor the team throughout the game.
Overall, it was a great effort, great teamwork, and a great day for JV LAX.
vs.
Hopkins School
Home
Tie
The JV girls took the field in Suffield on a beautiful—though definitely windy—day for a tough matchup against Hopkins which ended in a tie 4-4. From the opening draw, it was clear this would be an even, hard-fought game. We stayed a step ahead on the first 2 quarters, but Hopkins kept the pressure on with constant attacking and strong play on both ends of the field.
Their goalie had an excellent game, and both teams showed great discipline and determination. Despite the back-and-forth pace, our girls stayed composed, kept working the ball, and continued creating chances. In the final minutes, we were not able to find the net again, but the game remained balanced and exciting from start to finish, a matchup that truly could have gone either way.
The entire midfield deserves credit for their effort—running nonstop, supporting each other, and battling through moments when multiple defenders tried to shut down our transition. Their work rate and teamwork kept us competitive from start to finish.
vs.
Kent School
Home
Win
The JV girls earned a strong 8–3 win over Kent on a great spring afternoon. The game opened with back-and-forth play as both teams pushed in transition, but we found the first goals and began settling into a rhythm. Just as momentum was building, play was halted due to rain and thunder. After a short wait, the girls returned to the field energized and ready to finish what they started. The team's ball movement stood out—quick passing, smart switches, and relentless running created repeated scoring opportunities. Kent played with heart and never stopped attacking, keeping pressure on our defense throughout the game. A big shout-out to Alexa in goal, who came up with several key saves that kept us comfortably ahead. Kent battled until the final whistle, scoring in the last second, but overall it was a well-played, competitive matchup for both teams and a well-earned win for the girls.
