Tonight's contest between Suffield Academy's boy's lacrosse team vs King Academy ended in a 8 to 4 score giving King its first win of the early season and Suffield its first loss. King opened the game early with a couple quick goals which found Suffield having to rally from behind early. Our team was able to settle down before half time and came out fired up in the second half. A few in game changes and adjustments allowed for Suffield Academy's defense to limit King to one second half goal anchored behind goalie AJ Ellis' debut, however Kings goalie responded with great saves a stifled any rally the tigers may have had. If the second half is indicative of what's to come, look out for an exciting season ahead for our team!
Canterbury came in favored with a highly touted team and were able to start the game with six unanswered goals. The Tigers were without two senior starters but the offense in the second quarter saw our tigers go goal for goal to bring it to a 9 to 3 at half. Unfortunately, the Tigers ultimately fell 17-5 at the end of regulation in a hard-fought game.
Our Suffield Academy Tigers were on the road to the Hopkins School. The Hilltoppers came in with a 2-1 record and highly motivated team. The first quarter stalemate of 0-0 showed how tough both squads were. Going into the second half the tigers had a 5-3 lead and never lost it. Our Tigers got their first victory winning 11-5!
This highly anticipated game had our tigers coming off a big win looking to continue against a very well coached GCDS program. This game didn't disappoint as both teams fought the entire game with a great showing from Parker Valero and Austin Moore. ultimately our tigers were never able to get ahead and the GCDS team took the victory. With a lot to be proud of, our boys look forward to WMA next.

Team Overview
The Suffield lacrosse program aims to produce men of excellent character as well as lacrosse ability. Stick skills, footwork, and fitness are crucial to winning lacrosse games, and our players work to improve in all these areas. But the other skills lacrosse teaches—hard work, commitment, teamwork, determination, communication, and winning and losing with class—are paths to successful and happy lives, and they are qualities our program aims to instill.
The Suffield Academy lacrosse team has a rich tradition and an exciting present. The team enjoyed almost immediate ascendancy following its founding in 1969, including division titles in ’72 and ’73. League championships followed in ’96, ’97, and ’02, and, most recently, 2018. Suffield aims to maintain its position of prominence in western New England lacrosse while continuing to produce high-quality young men and lacrosse players. Recent Tiger alumni have gone on to play at Bucknell, Gettysburg, Ithaca, Manhattanville, Oberlin, Providence, Richmond, RIT, Rutgers, Skidmore, Trinity, and Utah, among other schools.
