SA Girls' Varsity Basketball took to the road playing at Greens Farms. It was a long bus ride and we Greens Farms was able to take advantage of things early as they opened up a big lead in the first half. The Tigers regrouped at half time and played a much better second half eventually falling to the Dragons, 53-37.
The Tigers were ready for rival Williston on Kinne Court. As per usual in this rivalry. The score was "nip and tuck" the whole first half. Suffield led most of the half but could never get the lead above 3 points, we went into halftime with a slim 19-18 lead. In the second half, our offense began to move better and made the extra pass as we were able get a double point lead with about 5 minutes to go. A great defensive effort propelled us to the finish for a hard-earned, 43-29 victory.
Girls' Varsity Basketball took to Kinne Court against Cheshire for a rare Monday Night Game. The Tigers started out slow as Cheshire came out shooting well and took a 7-point lead early . The Tigers chipped away and scored the last 7 points of the half to 30-25 lead into the half. We came out of the locker room and we were able to open a double-digit lead. Give credit to Cheshire as they battled back and cut it to 2-points. But the Tigers played some of their best basketball down the stretch and pulled away to secure a 58-52 victory
The Tigers opened the St. George's School Holiday Tournament against Governor's Academy. We played a very smart, aggressive 1st half as we took 25-20 lead into the half time locker room. The second half was a battle as Governor's shot the ball much better and we had a tough 3rd quarter offensively. We battles to the final buzzer, but fell 51-38.
Beaver Country Day was too much for the Tigers as they broke open a fairly close game in the second half. We were in the game in the first half as we were down by 9 at the half, but BCDS outscored us big in the 2nd half.

Team Overview
The coaching staff is committed to inspiring our young female players to become their very best on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
We expect our girls to function as one unit. Working together, supporting each other, and placing the well-being of the group ahead of self-interests are some of the values we hope to instill in every player. As a team we may face opponents with more talent but we will never be out-hustled. We always strive to give 100%. We push ourselves every day to improve the quality of our play, mental toughness, and physical condition. Our girls represent hard work, unity, and heart through all of their interactions on and off the court.
The Suffield Academy women’s basketball program has a rich history of success, including New England championships, players selected to the New England All-Star team each year, and more recently, a number of our girls have gone on to play at the college level at schools such as Quinnipiac University, Williams College, Queens College, Colby College, UMass-Lowell, Merrimack University, Ithaca College, and Trinity College.
New England Champions: 1996, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2008
