Tennis & Golf Center

Construction is complete on the new tennis and golf center at Suffield Academy. The project replaced ten courts with twelve new ones, and a 2,500-square-foot building was added. The facility includes a central lounge that opens onto the courts, restrooms, and two 3-dimensional activity spaces with Trackman TMiO Golf Simulators. It was designed by acclaimed architect Andrew Kotchen ’90, P’22, ’26 and his firm, Workshop/APD.
The tennis courts were constructed by Classic Turf, a leader in sports facility engineering in the Northeast, utilizing post-tension concrete technology known for its durability. Classic Turf pairs this with their patented all-weather sports surface, ensuring quality and resilience. The new design also enhances the spectator experience. Instead of the previous 10-foot fencing around all courts, the new layout features 8-foot fencing on the north and south sides and 4-foot fencing on the east and west. The tennis and golf center was funded entirely through gifts to Suffield.
