“A Chorus Line” Workshop

Accompanied by faculty members Tom Dugan and Chelsea Kane, Suffield’s Advanced Vocal Techniques class went on a field trip to Sacred Heart University to see a live show of “A Chorus Line” on Wednesday, April 6. The performance was followed by a question and answer session where the director and members of the cast gave meaningful insight into the process of rehearsing a play. They also spoke about life as a college theater major and also about being in theater productions as non-theater majors. Off-campus trips like this are integral to the academic curriculum, allowing students the opportunity to apply what they’re learning in the classroom to a different setting—one which they might be hoping to experience themselves in the next stages of their educational journeys. Of his experience attending this event Trent Hieber ’22 said, “My favorite part of the trip was being able to learn more about theater while being alongside my close friends. Seeing a production like that certainly makes me want to continue to pursue theater in college.”
