Alumni Sports Day

Alumni Sports Day

Suffield Academy alums returned to campus for athletics events on September 11. Alumni participated in a cross country run and water polo and soccer scrimmages. It was a beautiful autumn day in Suffield.

Zach McCormick ’14 enjoyed being part of the soccer match and reflecting on his years as a Suffield student by noting, “Those were likely the two best years of my life thus far. They gave me a new perspective on life and friendships. I will always cherish the experience and Suffield feels like home.” Jeremy Carrasquillo ’16, back on campus for the first time since graduating, echoed similar feelings in saying, “My years here were very formative and memorable, and Suffield was a real home away from home.” Mallorie Nai ’08 commented, “I always love coming back and the school looks fantastic.”

Joe Begley ’11, Bianca Molta Cargill ’07, Tucker Killam ’80, and Frank Molander ’88 joined the cross country event, while Walter Kress ’18 and  Jason Spazzarini ’11 played water polo.

The day concluded with a reception at Gay Manse, commemorating the long-lasting bond that exists between Suffield athletes and the school, coaches, teammates, and friends who’ve helped foster a great love of sports and community across the years.

Suffield’s 2021-2022 academic year is off to a strong start, and seeing alumni back on campus was another hopeful step in returning to many more valued pre-pandemic traditions.
