Arts Festival Recap

Suffield’s visual and performing art departments combined to host the school’s first-ever arts festival set along Stiles Walk on May 15. Seniors enrolled in visual art courses displayed and sold their work with additional members of the community joining in on creative projects and demonstrations of their own. The exhibition began at 7pm with performances by Suffield's musical groups including Beginning Jazz and Advanced Jazz Bands, AVTS, and the Suffield Singers. The event concluded with the Spring Guitar Show starting at 9pm. For the participating artists and musicians, the event marked the first live performances of the year.

Senior graphic artists Sophie Pirondini and Megan Swanson designed the event’s logo and Co-Visual Arts Chair Jenny Graham and Performing Arts Chair Tom Dugan were the faculty advisors. Jenny Graham commented, “The exhibition and event went very well. It was such an amazing moment for the arts to all be together in person and celebrating our seniors on such a beautiful night. This really felt like the beginning of a great new tradition for our artists, musicians, and performers. We are all very excited to be a part of it.”
