Community Outreach is a winter term afternoon program offering where students pursue service opportunities in the local community and beyond. Students plan creative events for a range of community members from young children to the elderly. This winter students have been connecting weekly with children at the Tiger Den (Suffield’s daycare center) while also partnering with Tiger Den families and the Suffield community to make a Suffield Community Aid donation to a local family. On the past two Wednesdays students visited alpacas at Roaring Acres, a local farm and boutique that is home to alpacas, sheep, mini horses, donkeys, and more! Lexi Mnich ’18 taught the group how to halter alpacas this week. The students look forward to continuing service activities throughout the trimester.
