Suffield’s core four values of kindness, respect, effort, and leadership shine through the work of students in our Community Outreach Program. This holiday season, these students demonstrated these values through a series of impactful initiatives.
Building Bridges with the Senior Community
Weekly visits to the senior center helped students connect personally with elder members of the community. They assisted with technology issues and formed intergenerational relationships.
Spreading Holiday Cheer with Suffield Alight
Suffield students set up hot chocolate and card decorating stations as part of the town’s holiday event focused on the spirit of giving.
Supporting Connecticut Children’s PJ Day
On December 13, Suffield students donned colorful pajamas in support of Connecticut Children’s PJ Day, raising funds and awareness for children fighting cancer.
Warmth for Winter: Collaborating with Suffield Community Aid
In partnership with Sparrow Crew, the Community Outreach Program helped raise funds and collect coats for Suffield Community Aid.
Brightening the Holidays with Handmade Cards
Students also engaged in creating and delivering holiday cards to local families, spreading cheer and making the season a little brighter.
The activities of the Community Outreach Program further extend Suffield Academy’s ties to the local community. This season of giving has left a lasting impression on all involved, highlighting the transformative power of service and collaboration.
