Senior swimmers Karrah Hayes, Sophia Tosone, Trent Hieber, and diver Avery Rappaport recently learned that they had qualified for NISCA’s prestigious Academic All America honors, requiring a 3.75 cumulative grade point average over their four years of high school study. NISCA is the governing body for high school aquatics (water polo, swimming, diving).
Retiring Head Coach Andy Lowe commented on the achievement, noting, “These four athletes were all finalists in New England Division I competition while maintaining a very high standing across four years of study in the classroom. They are exemplars of the student athlete ideal at Suffield, and each played a key leadership role on the team this year.”
This fall, Trent will attend Bates, Avery will head to Colby, Sophia to Hamilton, and Karrah to Georgia Tech.
