Members of Suffield Academy’s Investment Club took part in the 17th Annual Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts Stock Market Competition on November 10. Seniors Joseph Muslu, Johnny Beam, and Damon Li, along with juniors Navraj Toor and Henry Blanchard, formed Suffield Academy's first team to participate in the competition. CFO Patrick Booth helped coordinate the project. Fifty-four teams from thirteen schools took part. Teams were tasked with completing trades and investment strategies in a simulated market over sixty minutes that represented sixty days. Teams focused on decision-making and obtaining and digesting rapidly changing information. It was a great experience for the students who look forward to bringing back the lessons they learned to Suffield’s full Investment Club.
