Suffield’s Varsity Girls’ Soccer team won the New England prep school championship with a 4-1 victory over Pingree School on November 21 at Deerfield Academy. Suffield played its best soccer during the most important part of the season, winning three tournament matches.
After earning the #5 seed following a strong regular season Suffield traveled to Rivers School for a Class B quarterfinal match and earned a 1-0 victory. This led to a road match in the semis against top seed Lawrence Academy. The Tigers won 3-1, setting the scene for the neutral site finals. The team’s seniors were Lauren Burton, Lauren Carey, Devon Carty, Giselle Ciriaco, Ella Miller, Kelsey Nemeth, and Kaitlyn Suller. Nadja Meite ’24 said, “I am very proud of our team! We really worked hard for this and it was exciting to be part of a championship season.”
