Suffield Academy’s Rachel Carey Spirit Awards are annually given to a junior girl and boy who personify the word spirit. Rachel Carey was a talented scholar-athlete from Rocky Hill, Connecticut who tragically died in an automobile accident in 2003. Rachel exemplified the phrase, “It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” Now in its 20th year, the awards recognize student-athletes whose commitment to team sports personify the spirit and sportsmanship Rachel exuded. They give everything they have to Suffield Athletics and are great teammates. The 2022 Rachel Carey Awards go to CJ Mauthe ’23 from Rumson, New Jersey and Cambell Rosow ’23 from Fairfield, Connecticut. Congratulations to both Cambell and CJ as this year’s recipients!
