It was wonderful having families and friends on campus from October 14 to 16 for the 2022 Parents’ Weekend and Alumni Reunion. The enthusiastic energy at Suffield Academy was palpable over several gorgeous fall days.
Alumni were once again able to see and feel the Suffield spirit and enjoy being together as a community. Events for parents included meetings with faculty members, a performing arts showcase, athletic contests of all levels, and a state of the school discussion with Charlie Cahn. Many alums attended the arts and athletics events as well, and they enjoyed a discussion with Geoff Rockwell ’82 about the remarkable mural he painted that is in the lobby of Brewster Hall. A celebration of Brett Vianney’s 42-year career as a Suffield faculty member was a highlight of the Saturday evening dinner.
Colin Dowd ’12, Assistant Director of Development, said, “On a spectacular weekend of fall weather, we welcomed over 225 alumni from 15 classes on campus throughout the weekend. After talking to so many alums, the overwhelming feedback was how happy there were to be back on campus with their classmates and reconnecting with the community. Andy Spector ’62 reiterated to me how proud he is to be an alum of Suffield Academy and how his appreciation for the school grows every time he comes back.”
