Rockets on Bell Hill

On the morning of May 21, Kevin Van Dam’s Engineering Problem Solving class invited the the Suffield Academy community to watch them launch rockets from the bottom of Bell Hill. According to Mr. Van Dam, his students “learned the finer details of the cutting-edge technology known as ‘Pressurized Propulsion’” and they worked hard in the Top-Secret Kevco Rocket Propulsion Lab “to develop prototypes that can launch a fragile payload into the troposphere, and safely return it to Earth.” Not only was the event exciting to witness, it was also a great opportunity to learn more about engineering concepts.
