Solar Array Dedication

Suffield Academy dedicated its solar energy array to the Willow Springs Foundation during the fall Board of Trustees meeting on October 1, 2021. Trustee Suzy Vogler P’11 and her sisters lead the Willow Springs Foundation, which has made both Suffield and environmental responsibility in general large priorities in their giving. 

The 600-kilowatt solar power array produces 790 kW of energy per year. It is located on the western portion of campus with trenching that connects it to the Ap Seaverns Athletic Center. Solar energy covers around a quarter of Suffield’s annual use and the system can be expanded over time. The project was also supported by Suffield Academy’s 2019 Parents’ Association Auction.
