New Team Leadership

New Team Leadership

After an incredible 44 seasons as Suffield’s head swim coach, Andy Lowe has handed the role to faculty members Jem Bullock and Anu Rawlings. Jem and Anu will be part of a talented team of coaches including Greg Lynch, Dave Rusnock, Florry Arnold, and Joe Islam. Andy’s leadership of the program has been legendary, and fittingly Suffield’s swimming pool is named in his honor. Suffield’s girls’ team won three consecutive New England Division I championships under his leadership. Numerous teams earned runner up trophies for both boys and girls. More than 100 swimmers who Andy coached earned All American designation and many had top national prep school rankings. Alums swam at colleges and universities around America including Texas, Notre Dame, California, Virginia, and several Ivy League schools.

Jem has been teaching and coaching at Suffield since 2020. He swam at Bates College and helped lead the team to its best finish in program history as a senior captain. Anu has extensive swimming and swim coaching experience at Suffield and in her hometown of Kennebunk, Maine. She has been teaching and coaching at Suffield since 2018. Greg Lynch has been a key part of Suffield’s swim coaching staff since 2002 and Dave Rusnock P’21 ’25 also has extensive experience coaching at Suffield and elsewhere. The talented group of coaches is excited to help lead the program forward and carry on Andy’s incredible coaching legacy.
