For the first time in over a year, Suffield Athletics return to interscholastic competition beginning on April 9. After not having a spring season in 2020 due to restrictive regulations regarding Covid-19, players and coaches eagerly awaited their 2021 debut.
Co-Athletic Director Drew Gamere ’93 commented on the overall excitement of all Suffield’s athletes and coaches: “We are thrilled to begin interscholastic competition this afternoon. The energy and enthusiasm at our practices over the last few weeks has been terrific. Our student-athletes have done an excellent job following our policies and are very excited to have the opportunity to begin playing games.”
Individual team information and athletic schedules are available here on the Suffield Academy website in addition to live-streamed video available here. Today’s live-streamed events include girls' lacrosse vs. Kent at 3:30pm and softball vs. Williston at 4:30pm. Varsity baseball will face off against Williston on Saturday, April 10 at 2:15pm.
