Whitewater Rafting on the Deerfield River

Whitewater Rafting on the Deerfield River

Suffield’s traditional Leadership Program/whitewater rafting trip took place on September 25. The Class of 2025 went to Crab Apple Whitewater on the Deerfield River to enjoy the rapids and some great class bonding.

Alijah Sanford ’25 said, “It was an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and to take on problems headfirst as a group.”

Claire Mastella ’25 said, “It was super fun! And it was a really great experience for our grade.”

Isabel Rodriguez ’25 said, “It was a great opportunity to bond with my friends outside of school while doing something I’ve never done before.”

Leadership Program teacher Josh Hillman said, “The trip was a blast! The rapids were high and so were everyone’s spirits. Many students told me it was more fun than they expected and attributed that to the energy the raft guides brought to the river." Faculty member Kaitlyn Nigro added, “It was a chilly day on the river, but everyone had a great time tackling the white water. The highlight for many was the water fight at the end of the trip!”

Thank you to Jenn and Frank Mooney P’17 and Zach ’17 for guiding the Suffield students and faculty on the river. The trip was a great success and another fun tradition shared with the next generation of Tigers!
