Welcome New Faculty

We are pleased to welcome seven new faculty members to the Suffield Academy community.

Jonathan Anderson is joining our English Department. Jonathan is a 2024 graduate of Union College, where he was a house manager and varsity football player. He has been a summer teaching intern at Taft. In addition to teaching English, Jonathan will be a dorm parent in Hornick and coach football and basketball.

Tiffany Chang is joining our Marketing & Communications Office. Tiffany is a 2022 graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is completing her Master of Arts at Stanford. She is a Penn Alumni Ambassador, and was a student tour guide during her years at Milton Academy. In addition to her role in marketing, Tiffany will assist with volleyball and be a dorm associate in Barnes. She will be living in the faculty apartment building.

Ryan Hunt is joining the Science Department and will teach physics. Ryan is a 2023 graduate of Hamilton College, where he majored in physics and economics. He was a member of Hamilton’s varsity football team. In 2023 and 2024, Ryan coached football at Franklin & Marshall College. Ryan will coach football and basketball, and will be a dorm parent in Spencer Hall.

Conor Hawkins ’20 is joining our Admissions Office as an assistant director. He will be head coach of the varsity baseball team and a dorm parent in Fuller Hall. Conor is a 2024 graduate of Dickinson College, where he was a catcher on the baseball team. He has coached the CT Moose travel baseball program since 2022. Conor was on the Eaglebrook School faculty during the 2024–2025 academic year, teaching math, coaching (baseball, skiing, and football), and serving as a dorm parent.

Paola Jiménez Indaburu is joining our Languages Department and will teach Spanish and French. Paola has taught extensively in Colombia, in areas including international business, geopolitics, English, and Spanish. In addition to education, she has worked in government affairs, public relations, and business. Paola taught at Suffield’s Summer Academy. She earned her undergraduate degree (international affairs/international business) at Politécnico Grancolombiano University in Bogotá, and master’s degrees at Universidad Externado de Colombia and Columbia University. Paola will live with her husband (Scott Knox) in the faculty apartment building. In addition to teaching, she will be a dorm associate in Brodie Hall and coach volleyball.

Pierce Sullivan is joining the Science Department and will teach physics. Pierce is a 2025 graduate of Colorado College. He majored in physics (with an astrophysics emphasis) and minored in journalism. Pierce was a four-year staff writer for Colorado College’s newspaper, serving as sports editor in 2023 and 2024. He also has experience in boat building and sailing. Pierce is from Massachusetts and attended Bancroft School. In addition to teaching physics, he will coach soccer and skiing. He will be living in a faculty apartment.

Dr. Michael Urbanski is joining our Math Department. He will teach upper-level math courses including Calculus, and a fifth course (Computer Science Principles) with Jason Healy. Since 2022, Michael has been Director of the Math Center at Western New England University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in math. He earned his master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Connecticut. Michael grew up in Suffield, Connecticut. In addition to teaching, he will help with our fitness programs.
