The Final Fifty

The Final Fifty

The Class of 2025 celebrated 50th Night on April 3. One of Suffield’s great traditions, 50th Night serves as a time to reflect on and appreciate the remarkable journeys of graduating seniors as they approach their final weeks before Commencement.

Head of School Charlie Cahn welcomed seniors and faculty and introduced senior class president Jack Carey ’25 and class advisor Amy Randall ’09. Jack delivered an inspiring message, urging his classmates to make the most of their final fifty days together, create lasting memories, and embrace new challenges. “I stand before you tonight with less than two months until Commencement. A time that seemed so distant not too long ago and is now right around the corner. I urge you to cherish these last moments together.” Amy shared “This is your story—the final fifty chapters. You have the opportunity to craft a bestseller, filled with world-class experiences and lifelong friendships. Make each page count. Have fun, laugh a lot, study hard, belt out those songs on stage, be thoughtful, put effort into everything you do, and be kind to one another. Lead with pride as the Class of 2025.”

Following dinner, Head of School Charlie Cahn spoke about Suffield Academy’s evolution and highlighted some key moments in our school’s 192-year history. He concluded by noting to the seniors that: “you are part of this fascinating history, and soon you will join the nearly 8,000 Suffield alumni around the world. As we proceed through these next two months together, please remember and embrace our core four, cherish our good fortune of being part of a community that emphasizes essential values centered on kindness and respect for others, and stay focused on finishing your Suffield journeys in positive, productive ways.”

50th Night was a special evening, kicking off Suffield’s march towards Commencement on May 23.
