Suffield Academy alumni kicked off the summer with two spirited outings at iconic ballparks—Fenway Park on June 3 and Yankee Stadium on June 17. These annual gatherings brought together Tigers from across generations to reconnect, reminisce, forge new friendships, and enjoy one of summer’s classic traditions: baseball.
In Boston, alumni watched the Red Sox face off against the Los Angeles Angels. The atmosphere was lively and full of Tiger pride. Becca Collins ’17 captured the spirit of the night, sharing “The game was an absolute blast. I always enjoy reconnecting with fellow Suffield alums, and doing so at Fenway made the night especially fun.”
Between the two events, exciting news spread through the Suffield community—Christian Moore ’21 had been called up to the majors, adding an unexpected and fun twist to the upcoming New York event.
Christian, selected eighth overall by the Angels in the 2024 MLB Draft, made his Major League debut on June 14 against the Baltimore Orioles. Just two nights later, under the lights of Yankee Stadium, Moore recorded his first career hit: a triple in the eighth inning that brought in the game’s only run, securing the win for Los Angeles. Then, on June 17, alumni gathered once again—this time in the Bronx—and the evening was especially memorable. With Christian on the field, Tigers had an extra reason to cheer, no matter their team allegiance. Suffield’s baseball coach Bryan Brissette joined alumni for the event and reflected on seeing one of his former players on baseball's biggest stage. He shared “It was a proud moment for me and the entire Suffield Academy baseball program having an alum play at Yankee Stadium. It was great spending time with Chris's family as they watched their son fulfill his dream of being an MLB player.”
These two alumni gatherings were the perfect way to kick off summer—while celebrating the Suffield community in Boston and NYC.
