Tigers Play at Dunkin’ Park

Suffield Academy’s varsity baseball team took the field at Dunkin’ Park—home of the Hartford Yard Goats, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies—for a memorable matchup against Kingswood-Oxford. Playing under the lights in a professional ballpark setting, the Tigers embraced the rare opportunity to compete on a larger stage.

Suffield set the tone early and maintained control for much of the game, combining timely hitting with steady defense to hold the lead into the later innings. However, Kingswood-Oxford surged in the seventh, capitalizing on a late rally to narrowly pull ahead and secure a hard-fought 6–5 victory.

Despite the outcome, the experience left a strong impression on the team. First-year head coach Conor Hawkins ’20 shared “It was awesome having the team play in a ballpark like that. I'm glad they had that experience and I hope they'll remember it. Thank you to the Suffield fans who came to watch in Hartford.”
