First Annual Charity Carnival

First Annual Charity Carnival

This year Suffield Academy is proud to support NF Northeast as the community charity. Presented in the student voting process by Kaitlyn DeSiena ’26 and Ashlyn Wills ’26, Neurofibromatosis Northeast began as a grassroots organization whose mission was “to raise funds to promote research, create awareness and provide support to NF patients and families.” Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on nerves.

To begin the year-long initiative, the first annual carnival filled Landis Student Union on November 15. Over twenty students helped organize and run games ranging from a tee shot challenge and cup pong to balloon darts and ring toss. Opportunities to pie a student or faculty member were a highlight, as volunteers took center stage for the big splatter.

Kaitlyn DeSiena shared, “Ashlyn and I were so excited to help bring a new tradition to Suffield and were extremely grateful to everyone who attended the carnival. We are so excited for upcoming events this year including the telethon and color wars.” Ashlyn added, “It was amazing to see the support from the Suffield community and raise money for NF Northeast, particularly to help those impacted locally.” The carnival raised $6,429.
