Welcoming the New Year in New York City

More than 100 members of the extended Suffield Academy community gathered at the Harmonie Club in Manhattan for a reception on January 15, 2026. The annual January event is a highlight for the alumni and parent community. Head of School Charlie Cahn spoke about Suffield’s steadfast commitment to key traditions and shared core values. He highlighted the school’s strong spirit, immense enrollment demand, growing resource base, and outstanding college placement results for members of the Class of 2026. Charlie also reviewed the recent Head of School search and expressed how excited he and the Board of Trustees are that Casey Bobo will join the community for the 2026-2027 academic year and begin serving as Head of School in July 2027. Charlie noted that Casey is a highly skilled educational leader with a warm personality, and that she was the clear top choice of the search committee. The Manhattan gathering is always a nice way for members of the extended Suffield family to begin the new year.
