Softball and Baseball Head South

Ahead of the 2026 spring season, two Suffield Academy teams traveled south to Florida for preseason training.

The baseball team spent the week at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach. Practicing at such a historic venue provided an inspiring backdrop as the team prepared for the season ahead. The Tigers played three games during their trip, finishing with a 1–2 record. Suffield earned a strong 10–3 win over Groton and faced tough competition in losses to Vineland (10–13) and Delsea (3–12), both teams from New Jersey.

Suffield’s softball team traveled to Orlando for its annual spring training trip—marking the program’s twelfth visit to the area. The team made the most of the warm weather, opening its season with four games and a 2–2 record against opponents from New Jersey, Montana, and New York. Off the field, the team embraced the full Orlando experience, bonding over team dinners and enjoying a visit to Universal Studios. The combination of competition and camaraderie made for a strong start to the season.

Now back on campus, Suffield’s spring athletics are in full swing. The spring sports schedule can be found here
