Suffield Academy hosted the 10th annual Special Olympics cross country race on September 13. Held on Suffield’s beautiful cross country course, the event brings together athletes for an afternoon of fitness and fun. Members of Suffield’s cross country and JV field hockey teams were paired with Special Olympics athletes, who celebrated a shared sense of accomplishment after completing the 3K or 5K course.
Ava Carroll ’24 completed her fourth Special Olympics event and shared, “I always look forward to this day. It’s a great way to bring our community together while including people with all abilities. Everyone gets split into teams and competes against each other, creating an exciting and supportive environment for everyone.”
The annual race is a highlight of the fall season at Suffield.
