The Fox of ’87 Takes the Water

Suffield Academy's rowing team is remarkably in its 11th year already, and this season the rowers have two new King Racing shells in its fleet of boats. The men’s boat, previously referred to as “The Black King” due to its high shine black finish, was named for Edward Fox ’87 for his steadfast support of the team and program. On May 2, Ed Fox took time away from his role as a Chief of Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgery & Metabolic Bone Diseases and Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in Hershey, Pennsylvania to come to the boathouse and christen The Fox of ’87Ed even helped the team de-rig the boats in preparation for the Founder’s Day Regatta and showed a cool trick for boat adjustments. His dedication to the sport and Suffield make him a fitting honoree for the new racing shell.
