Telethon for NF Northeast

Telethon for NF Northeast

Suffield Academy’s 11th annual charity telethon was held on the evening of March 5, bringing the community together for a night of creativity, energy, and purpose. Produced live from the Jeanice Seaverns Performing Arts Center, the show featured a wide range of performances—from roommate wars and a lip sync battle to a sour candy challenge with Head of School Charlie Cahn, basketball trick shots, and dynamic musical and dance performances.

Parents, alumni, and friends of Suffield tuned in from near and far to support NF Northeast throughout the evening. In the theater, students filled the audience, cheering on their peers and adding to the electric atmosphere, while behind the scenes, the tech team worked seamlessly to capture and broadcast the excitement to viewers online. In between live acts, student-produced videos highlighted campus life, creativity, and the cause at the heart of the event.

The telethon is part of a series of events aimed at raising funds in support of the student-selected charity. This year, proceeds benefit NF Northeast, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF)—a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. NF Northeast provides resources, education, advocacy, and community connections, while also funding critical research aimed at finding better treatments and a cure.

A Color Wars event will take place this spring to continue the fundraising efforts for this year's community charity.
