Tigers in the Postseason

Volleyball, field hockey, and boys’ soccer all advanced to the NEPSAC Class B quarterfinals, each entering the tournament as the #5 seed to take on #4-ranked opponents.

In her first season as head coach, Ramona Fontaine ’18 guided the volleyball team to an impressive 12–5 record. On the Kingswood-Oxford court, the Tigers opened the match with focus and intensity, ready to challenge their higher-seeded opponent. After a few early mistakes, the team showed resilience—fighting for every point and keeping the energy high throughout the match. Although the match didn’t end in Suffield’s favor, the team capped off a strong season marked by growth and determination.

On Quimby Field, the field hockey team arrived ready to compete against a gritty Cushing Academy squad. The Tigers played an intense sixty minutes—leaving everything on the field. Shots were even at 9–9, and Suffield held a 5–1 advantage in corners. A beautifully executed goal by Sarah Kriebel ’26, assisted by Coco Gates ’28, brought the score to 2–1. Despite a late surge and relentless effort, the Penguins ultimately prevailed. The Tigers conclude a stellar season with a 14–3–1 record and should be especially proud of being undefeated at home on Shay Field.

Battling blustery, windy conditions near the water, the boys’ soccer team faced off against the St. George’s Dragons in a hard-fought, evenly matched contest that showcased their grit and teamwork. Stone Visconti ’26 scored the game-winning goal in the second half. St. George’s attack applied pressure, but Suffield’s solid back line and midfield stayed composed. Suffield advances to the NEPSAC Class B semifinals and will take on Mount St. Charles [#1 seed] on Saturday, November 15 at 2:00pm in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
