Welcome New Faculty

We are pleased to welcome eight new faculty members to the Suffield Academy community.

Casey Bobo is Suffield’s Head of School-Elect. She will work closely this year with Head of School Charlie Cahn, prior to officially becoming Suffield’s head on July 1, 2027. For the past four years Casey was Assistant Head at Dexter Southfield. She previously was a faculty member and held leadership roles at Belmont Hill, Brooks, The New School, and Hockaday. During the 2026-2027 academic year Casey will get fully immersed in community life, focusing on admissions and development, teaching a winter/spring English elective and 11th-grade College 101 course in the Leadership Program, and assisting with the girls’ lacrosse program. Casey is a graduate of Dartmouth (bachelor’s in history) and University of Massachusetts (master’s in educational administration). She will live at 29 Day Avenue.

Chris Cowell is Suffield’s Chief Financial Officer. Chris will lead the Business Office and oversee areas including technology, maintenance and physical plant, dining services, campus safety, summer programs, and various areas related to the school’s infrastructure. Chris was CFO & Business Manager at The Frederick Gunn School from 2018 to 2026. From 2012 to 2018 he was the Director of Business Services at Kent School. Chris began his career as an accountant at JH Cohn and worked in the business office at Renbrook. Chris is a graduate of Assumption College (bachelor’s in accounting). He lives in Burlington, Connecticut.

Stanley Dunbar rejoins our faculty after spending the 2025-2026 academic year at Portsmouth Abbey School. Stanley will work in the Academic Support Office, be dormitory head of Samii, and be the head football coach. Stanley has previously been head football coach at Westerly High School and Portsmouth Abbey. He is the founder and director of Breakthrough Elite Football. Stanley is a graduate of University of Rhode Island (bachelor’s in communications and media studies) and American International College (MBA).

Patti Ego is joining our Science Department and will teach physics and engineering. She has instructed several levels of physics in three schools in Texas including St. John’s School from 2022 to 2026. Patti is also an AP Physics Reader. Patti earned a Bachelor of Science degree (chemistry major and math and physics minors) from Grand Valley State University. She has served in several leadership roles including course team leader, curriculum writer, professional development leader, and facilitator of physics-education workshops. Patti will be a dorm associate in Barnes and live in the faculty apartment building.

Trent Hieber ’22 is returning to Suffield to join our Science Department as a biology and chemistry teacher. Trent graduated from Bates in May, earning a bachelor’s in biology with a minor in Hispanic Studies. He was a four-year member of the Bates swim team and played on the Bates football team as a senior. Trent was also in the Bates Choir. He is a certified EMT. In addition to his teaching, Trent will coach swimming and water polo and be a dorm parent in Hornick.

Miles Henle ’21 returns to Suffield as a member of our Math Department. Miles earned a bachelor’s degree (double major in math and computer science) and master’s from Wesleyan. He has summer work experience in artificial intelligence programming. Miles will teach various upper-level math courses. He will live with his family at their home on Day Avenue and be a dorm associate in Samii.

Isaac Smith is joining our Math Department. Isaac did his undergraduate work at Brigham Young (bachelor’s in applied mathematics). He has worked as a research assistant in computational organic chemistry and in healthcare economics at BYU, and as an undergraduate research assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital. Isaac’s interests include outdoor education and music. Isaac will teach calculus and linear algebra and be a dorm parent in Spencer Hall.

Carter Williams is joining our Math Department. Carter is a graduate of Providence College (bachelor’s in marketing and minor in data science). She was a senior admissions fellow and sports information intern at Providence, and a lower school volunteer at Moses Brown. Carter has been a marketing intern with ELx Travel, Nyberg group, and Strong Girls United. Carter will teach precalculus and algebra. She will be a dorm associate in Tompkins and live in the faculty apartment building.
