Bryan Brissette

Bryan was raised in Burrillville, Rhode Island and attended Burrillville High School. After completing a postgraduate year, he majored in government at Harvard and was honored with a place on the Dean’s List and named as a Paul E. Weissman Scholar. Bryan was also a member of the varsity baseball team and earned second team All-Ivy honors as a catcher. After Harvard, he earned a master’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University and later served as a United States Secret Service Special Agent.

As a member of the Suffield faculty, he earned another master’s degree in history from Trinity College. Additionally, Bryan is the head varsity baseball coach and assistant coach for the varsity football team. Off the field, he teaches U.S. History and electives on the Civil War, twentieth century warfare, the Atlantic slave trade, and modern Middle Eastern history. Bryan lives on campus with his wife, Chrissy, and their daughter, Reese.

A trip to Wright’s Farm Restaurant (owned by Suffield alum Frankie Galleshaw ’81)

The opportunity to be a positive influence in the lives of young people

What is something you believe one can never over-invest in? 
Individual mental and physical health/wellness

Learning...not only in the academic sense, but also learning about people and their life experiences

What advice would you give a new teacher at Suffield Academy? 
Compassion for your students and enthusiasm in the classroom are vital to being an effective teacher

What is the most important life lesson for someone to learn? 
Pay attention to detail in all that you do
