Holiday Dinner is an annual tradition that happens before winter break. Students get dressed up in suits and ties, dresses, and heels, or just any formal clothing they have. The week before the dinner, there is a rose sale where the students can buy roses for their peers or their teachers.

Suffield Academy’s Model United Nations club has had a remarkably successful 2023-2024 season so far. For those who do not know what Model UN is, it is an event where each participant, also known as a delegate, is assigned a country. The delegates will then be placed into different committees which are like groups which most of the time have around 20 delegates; with each committee having a different issue that is posed to be solved. The goal is simple each delegate is trying to solve their assigned issue while also trying to do what is best for their country.

Interval House Fundraisers Achieve Record-breaking Feats

Article: Milly Janevathanvitya ’25

Setting unprecedented records, Suffield has made incredible progress in this year’s annual fundraiser. The nominated charity this year is Interval House, proposed by Campbell Hudkins ’25 and Sydney Drinan ’25, whom I have had the pleasure to interview.

The War in Ukraine

Article: Yaroslav Spytskyi ’24 | Photo: @GlasnostGone

Every article about Ukraine counts the days since the start of the full-scale invasion. As the second anniversary of the morning of February 24 looms on the horizon, the number now will be 730 days. 730 days of war. Saying 730 days instead of two years underscores how long Ukrainians endured the war. It highlights the tremendous courage and strength of the people who have kept fighting for so long. But the ubiquitous 730 lost all its initial significance. It became but another number people see when they read newspapers just like the death toll or the number of missiles fired on a given day.
