Senior Celebration Day - Class of 2017!
The College Counseling and Alumni Development offices are honoring our seniors with a special celebration day on Thursday, May 4.  Seniors can stop by anytime between 9a - 3p for food and fun.  There will be lots of pictures so do not forget to wear your college t-shirt or sweatshirt, paire with dess code bottoms of course!  Mrs. Cahn will take an all-class college photo at 2:15 p (during L-Period) on Bell Hill.  See you then!

Seniors - May 1 Deposit Date:
Monday, May 1, is the National Candidates Reply Date. This is the deadline for formally notifying
the college you will be attending that you accept its offer of admission by submitting your deposit.
Once you make your decision, it is considerate to let other colleges to which you have been accepted
know that you will not enroll. That way the college can plan to offer your spot to someone else. Many
of you have made this decision and have deposited already. But for those of you who have not, you
have some time to decide. If you need help thinking through your options, please stop in to see your
college counselor.

College Tour for Sophomores & Juniors
There are still a few spaces left for Suffield Academy’s college tour with EF/Explore America. Space is limited so please register soon if you are at all interested. Suffield Academy sophomores and juniors have the opportunity to visit eight colleges in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. during the first week of Spring Break, from March 5-10, 2017. This is a great opportunity for our students to visit many different kinds of schools, learn the college admissions language, and understand the admissions process. This tour is not intended to replace the family college tour experience, but serves to supplement it and to give students an opportunity to see more schools. To view the website with our tour details log on to: efexploreamerica.com/1857147HN.

Seniors: Now is the Time to Submit Financial Aid Forms
The FAFSA and CSS Profile became available October 1. The FAFSA is the application most colleges use to determine eligibility for federal, state and college-sponsored financial aid. The link to this form is: fafsa.ed.gov. The CSS Profile is the form used for non-federal financial aid for some college and scholarship programs. Not every college requires the CSS Profile so be sure to check each college individually for their requirements. The link to this form is: student.collegeboard.org/css-financial-aid-profile. For priority consideration, complete and submit your financial aid forms as soon as possible.
