The 3,000-square-foot Hoffman College Counseling Center provides Suffield with a modern, bright, attractive space in the middle of the academic quadrangle. The center includes offices for the five college counselors, an open area for the director's assistant and a materials library, a private interview room, and a conference room. Representatives from more than one hundred twenty colleges and universities visit Suffield each year to recruit students and meet with counselors. The Hoffman Center is part of an ambitious, comprehensive college counseling initiative that implements a developmentally-appropriate four-year plan. Highlights include group meetings for ninth and tenth grade students, a nine-week College 101 course for all eleventh graders, and intensive individual counseling for all Suffield seniors. The Hoffman College Counseling Center was designed by Tecton Architects and beautifully merges Suffield’s rich architectural history with creative, modern elements.
