Lady Tigers run strong...
The runners tackled the heat and the daunting hills well to come away with two victories, one over Taft, one over Miss Porter's. In a tactical, smart race, Jenna Daly '21 raced to first place overall by out sprinting a Porter's girl in the final 100 meters, in a time of 21.24. Lexi Roberts '20 ran a tough race and came in at 4th, in a time of 22.21. Izzy Dutranoit '19 led a mini Tiger pack in 22.42 to grab 7th, Megan Alberding '19 got 8th in 22.53 and Emma Krasemann '21 snagged 9th after a ferocious sprint in the final 80 meters in the time of 22.59. Caroline Walsh '20 did well in the final mile, and in particular the final 50 meters, to place 14th in 24.07. Becca Bauer '19 bounced around the course well to snag 17th in 24.32. Gabriella Tosone '20 pushed the pace to grab 19th in 25.36. Casey Eskridge '20 ran incredible negative splits. Coming off a cold, she started slowly and moved her way up the pack to finish 20th with a time of 25.58. Olivia Alfano '19 outran opponents to grab 26th in 26.57 and Carlin Molander '18 shaved off minutes from an earlier time to grab 35th at 28.39. Katherine Kelley '18 and Sarah Kurbanov '21 both kept a steady pace to grab 40th and 41st in 29.01 and 29.30. The course was 3.0 miles long.
Thanks to the many parents who came to cheer and bring treats. And thanks to Taft for hosting us so graciously by providing water for all at the 1.5 mile mark.
