Tigers fall at Miss Porter's...
It was a hot day on the turf at Miss Porter's in Farmington. Especially warm for late September in New England. Both teams knew it was going to be a long game and arranged for planned water breaks halfway through each half, essentially making the game into 4 quarters. The rest was much needed for both teams as the sun beat down and the heat reflected. Suffield played well on this day, but were outmatched. Porter's was too fast and too accurate with their passing, causing the tigers to be forced on their heels early. The few chances we did have were thwarted before too much pressure could be placed on their goalie. Down 0-3 at the half, the girls were geared up for a quick start in to the second half, but MPS squashed those hopes as they scored 2 goals in the first 2 minutes of the 2nd half to put the game out of reach. Despite the score, the girls played hard. Next up is a home game on Friday vs. Hotchkiss at 4:30.
