Strong race for SAXC...
On what turned out to be an incredible day for running, the lady Harriers put in strong performances on the challenging Westminster course. Jenna Daly '21 ran a smart race by starting at a conservative pace. She then moved up the pack and grabbed 10th place, good for individual commendation. Izzy Dutranoit '19 also ran smart and moved up the pack throughout the race, running nearly step for step with speedster Madi McCresh '19. The two girls grabbed 13th and 14th, respectively. Emma Krasemann '21 shot by competitors on the hills to grab 17th in a lifetime PR and Megan Alberding '19 paced a smart race over the distance to place 23rd. Lexi Roberts '20 pressed on after an ankle roll, never giving up and finished 29th. Caroline Walsh '20, in a varsity debut, ran a fabulous race over the distance, running 3 minutes faster than last year on the same course. She grabbed 32nd.
In the junior varsity race, Becca Bauer '19 bounced over the distance with speed and precision. She placed 3rd, which would have placed her in the top half of the varsity race. Casey Eskridge '20 ran another clever race--she started at a moderate pace and just kept getting faster and faster. She just missed individual recognition by placing 11th. Gabriella Tosone '20 tackled the hills with fortitude and finished in 15th. Olivia Alfano '19 outpaced opponents on the track in a fast finish to grab 29th. Katherine Kelley '18 ran a smart race to grab 38th and Sarah Kurbanov '21 continued her steady improvement with a solid 53rd place finish.
Thanks to the many fans who came to cheer who brought an incredible spread of food and drinks. It was much appreciated by all.
