Tough loss for Girls JV Soccer...
Suffield - 1
Kingswood - 2
On this Parent's Weekend, it was a tale of two halves. With all the activities of the weekend, Suffield came out a bit flat. We lacked the communication and awareness that made our last game so exciting. 14 minuets in, Kingswood chipped in a loose ball over the head of the goalie to take a 1-0 lead. KO keep the pressure on for most of the half, and Suffield could not do much to gain possession and muster much of an attack. With 6 minutes to go, KO broke through again and slid the ball into the lower left hand side of the net to extend the lead. The girls were disappointed, but not frustrated. A few simple suggestions during the break allowed the girls to refocus. 22 seconds into the second half, Lilly Rotter swooped in to take the ball after Robyn Campos did a great job containing her opponent and caused a turnover. Lilly took advantage and put Suffield on the board. The goal ignited the team and kept the pressure on for much of the next 34 minutes. Despite a few close chances, the girls were not able to score again before the time ran out. It was a well played game by both teams, and the girls confidence continues to build. Next up is a trip to Berkshire on Saturday for a match up with the Bears.
