Tigers fall short on the road at Andover...
The Tiger polomen made the lengthy trip to Andover for an important midseason league match against the Big Blue. The two teams battled across 28 minutes of regulation play, in an evenly matched contest in the small Andover tank. While Andover held the lead through much of the contest, by the end of the third quarter, the game Orange squad had pulled even with the host team, 9-9. What looked like a possible, emerging upset of the 7-2 Phillips Academy scholars, however, was rendered more improbable when, owing to a few TIgermen offensive errors and successful Andover counter attacks, our opponents retook the lead, 11-9. The two teams traded goals in a furious back and forth, final three minutes, but Suffield could not muster enough firepower to overcome the small deficit that emerged early in Q4.
While the team is improving in terms of intensity and decision making, much work is ahead of them, as a win against Loomis or Deerfield will be needed to qualify them for a Final Four play in berth in the weeks to come.
