Tough loss for Tiger B Soccer...

Suffield Academy Tiger B was defeated 5-0 against The Gunnery school in a match that was more competitive and exciting than the scoreline suggests. The game got off to a difficult start as Gunnery scored 2 goals from breakaway plays within the first 5 minutes. Suffield was clearly lethargic from the 1.5 hour drive, and were caught off guard by the deceptive speed of one of Gunnery’s strikers. Suffield was on its heels for the remainder of the first half, but conceded only once more. Jaid Dunn made his debut in goal and picked up valuable experience at the position. Suffield regrouped at the break and came out the stronger side during the 2nd half. For 30 minutes, Owen Kinne, Justin Hern, Luke Bonini, John Zhang, Teddy Taylor, Ivan Belyaevsky, and Henry Lee kept the pressure on Gunnery and created numerous opportunities to score. Quinn Matthes played his best game of the season, demonstrating great dribbling skill and field vision to set up his teammates. On defense, Arnold Chung, Kenny Lin, Kao Kitichokul, Peter Jiang, Minh Nguyen, and Neil Shady thwarted most of the Gunnery attack. Michael Greco who started at midfield in the first half, played an excellent 2nd half as Suffield’s goalkeeper.  Suffield had numerous players injured or unable to play including Junyang Chen, Partho Karak, Shinichiro Sato, and Cam Parrow who helped to cheer the team on.
