Big Finish for Girls Cross Country
On a beautiful late fall day, the girls took to the line and put in very strong performances, in a race similar to the upcoming New England's championship. Jenna Daly '21 ran a very fast race over the distance and out sprinted a competitor 1 meter from the finish to grab 8th place, out of 96 racers. Emma Krasemann '21 set a season PR and finished seconds behind to grab 10th. Madi McCresh '19 returned from injury to place a strong 15th, after moving past a large pack of runners. Izzy Dutranoit '19 looked smooth over the distance and grabbed 25th with Lexi Roberts '20 close behind in a season PR time and in 27th place. Megan Alberding '19 ran tough over the distance to finish 31st with a bouncy Becca Bauer '19 close behind in 40th. These top 7 runners helped the team achieve a 2nd place finish. Also in the varsity race were speedy sophomores Caroline Walsh, Gabriella Tosone, and Casey Eskridge. In the junior varsity race, three fearless Harriers took to the line. Sarah Kurbanov '21 shattered her previous best by almost two minutes, and both Olivia Alfano '19 and Carlin Molander '18 set season PRs. It was a great race for the squad. Thanks to the many parents who came to cheer and bring delicious treats and snacks.
