Suffield finishes 10th in New England...

The Boys Cross Country team finished off a strong season with a top ten placement at the NEPSTA Division II Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Berkshire School. It was a very cold day but beautifully sunny and calm.

Ethan Ash '20 led the team, finishing 24th, over ten places higher than last year. Milo Marcus '18 finished his cross country career with his highest championship finish, 39th, and close to his fastest time on a frigid course with a large hill. Dominic Colangelo '19 showed great promise for next year, completing his entire season without injury and racing to third for the team and 55th overall. Shane Donahue '19 and Nick Briones '20 worked well together closing out our top five and solidifying our top ten team finish. Kevin Kuzmeski '18 made the most of his only cross country season finishing sixth for the team and breaking into the top 100. Bobby Flynn '19 struggled in the cold but showed great determination and kept pushing on to the finish.

The JV race started at 3:15pm with our runners racing against their opponents and the darkness as the last rays of sunshine disappeared behind the mountain. Sam Ingalls '20 led the JV team, which also finished tenth, with a great time only 12 seconds off his season personal best. Stanley Huang '20 ran strong and was pushed by senior John Killam '18 the entire race. Our top trio in this race were superb in working together and pushing up in the pack. Vaughn Rogers '19 finished his best season ever running a personal best on the difficult course. Jim Hou '21, running in his first championship meet, ran a solid race pushing Michael Robidoux '18 to a great finish. Nick Selvitelli '20 ran a fantastic race and continued to move closer to breaking 21 minutes. Jake Selbst '18 also worked very hard this season and came in at a sub seven minute mile pace. Daniel Ennis '21, Kush Shah '19 and Eli Li '21 ran very well together and had great seasons. We are excited to have them all back next year. James Woolley '21 improved his times by several minutes over the course of the season.

Thanks to all the family and friends who came out to Berkshire to cheer on the team and everyone who supported the team through another very rewarding season.
