Tigers fall in final of Hopkins Invitational...

In their initial game of the season on October 4, Hopkins surprised Suffield with an impressive scoring effort by one of their players, leading them to a 14-12 win over the Tigers. Suffield hoped to reverse the result of the first game in this second matchup with host Hopkins. The same Hopkins player who stole the show in Suffield replicated his feat, scoring a lion's share of the Hilltoppeers output, leading to another two-goal victory over the Tigers.

The game was closely contested from the opening to final whistle. Q1 ended with Hopkins leading 2-1; at halftime, the teams were tied, 4-4. Hopkins reclaimed a slim lead at the conclusion of Q3, 8-7. It was anyone's guess who would prevail. Suffield enjoyed balanced scoring across their starting lineup, while Hopkins leaned heavily on the uncanny ability of Seiter to find the back of the net from nearly every angle of attack. Melvin Ku made some point blank saves to keep Suffield in the game, but a few offensive miscues in the final minutes by Suffield squandered some good opportunities to take the game into overtime.

Sasha Derby (2), Ryan Lunsford (2), Max Bass (2), Elias Smith (1), and CIan Beaulieu (1) netted goals for the Orange. Melvin Ku made five blocks, and Derby earned six, while defending the goal.

Coach Ciecimmirski commended the seniors at game's end for their hard work and leadership of the team's over the 18-game season, helping the team to improve and grow substantively in the rebuilding year. Tiger seniors on this year's team are co-captains Max Miranda and Cian Beaulieu, Walter Kress, Elias Smith, Max Bass, Sasha Derby, James Kagan, and Westley Bartlett.
